I find the weather looks more real at the minimal setting than with all the hi-res stuff. The fps jumps around, but, so far, it's nothing critical. Meanwhile, FSX seems to be doing pretty well on its own. I don't know if it's the same as their download. I did set the same parameters in my current Nvidia control screen.
Fsx addons download#
Nvidia says download the Nvidia controller which will replace the Nvidia controller screen on your computer. Then I read that you can do it from within Nvidia. I did Bujote's Tweaks (HIGHLY recommended), but couldn't get the external Framerate limiter to work. I'm getting a good average of 10-30 depending on the situation and 60 in remote areas. I pulled it back to 60 fps which seems to help with stabilizing it. Whoosh! I was getting 140 fps all of a sudden. Someone said it on another post the other day. If these aren't in the Downloads section just do a web search and you should find them.įirst- set Framerate to Unlimited- I can't believe I never tried this or read about it. This is everything I've found that isn't scenery or aircraft. Here is part of a long winded summary paper I've put together about my two years experience with FSX. I've been checking out all the various add-ons that are available for FSX.
Fsx addons update#
Plus a Mag Var update as the one in FSX is out of date, using the updated one will make the runways line up better (some will still be slightly out by 1 or 2 dregs as not every Airport uses 2017 data but it will be far closer then the FSX default) with your charts. (If it looks like Gatwick then that's fine by me, no need for all the bells and whistles etc as long as the runways and taxiways match up then that's fine)Īn important download would be the nav aid updates from this site ,it will update etc for Airports around the world, they get updated every month.Īlso on this site you can update the waypoints that you see on the GPS and map. One of the good things I have found is that the main Airports in FSX are for more detailed then the ones in FS9 so as some one already said just an AFCAD file will be needed to update the ground layout plus frame rates will be better compared to a payware Airport. Hopefully others might be able to point out anything I've missed in this quick response. There's a forum thread somewhere on here about recommended aircraft but I can't find it right now.įSUIPC is a freeware miscellaneous tool you should download first which acts as an interface for some other addons to communicate with flight sim. I won't go into aircraft here as there are just too many to mention and it depends on what you like flying. You can often find "AFCAD"s which are basic airport taxiway, apron & runway layouts people have made.įor more detailed scenery publishers such as UK2000 (for the UK), Aerosoft, FSDreamTeam & FlyTampa (just to name a few of the many) produce some excellent products.įor global scenery & textures, ORBX is the publisher to look for.

In terms of airport scenery, you'll ideally want to try and download at least freeware (eg from AVSIM) for wherever you fly as there can be significant differences between the real world and the FSX representations of them.
Fsx addons free#
If you don't want to splash out for all the fancy features just yet (though I'd say it's worth it) a free FSX Weather Engine will do the job for giving you basic real winds etc. Active Sky 2016 is the latest and probably most popular release. You'll also probably want a weather client so you can see the real conditions. "vPilot model matching" will come up with lots of results online. With it, you'll want model matching so you can other VATSIM traffic in their actual aircraft/airlines. I personally still use the FSInn client, however the new standard is vPilot. Obviously you need some way of connecting to VATSIM. I'm on my phone so can't easily provide links right now but you'll find everything through Google. I think the main reason for the lack of responses is how wide the topic is.
